MAYA HEALING Rosita apprenticed 12 years with Don Elijio Panti, a shaman healer of Belize. Out of his great compassion, Don Elijio gave her permission to share some of what she learned with us in the United States. Rosita has created a training system to bring the teachings to our culture in a way that they can fit in. I was certified as a Maya Abdominal Massage therapist by her in Fall, 2003, after an extensive training time. Miss Beatrice is a midwife and shaman healer who lives in Belize, traveling some to the US to share with us some of the indigenous wisdom passed down to her from her father, a healer, and grandmother, a midwife. Her infectious laugh and skillful hands have been a great inspiration to me. It is she who has taught me the true meaning and power of prayer.
